Market Companion is made up of five sections, each serving a specific purpose.

Global Market Update

A live, big-picture summary of what is driving markets right now. This broad macro overview is refreshed throughout the trading day and provides context on the forces behind overall market direction — interest rates, macro events, cross-asset moves, and more.

Breaking

A real-time feed of the highest-conviction movers in the selected asset universe (US Stocks or Popular CFDs). Articles here are ranked by Price Move Strength — a measure that accounts for how unusual a move is relative to that asset's own recent history — not simply by raw percentage gain or loss.

New articles are inserted into the correct ranked position as they arrive, so the feed always reflects the current state of the market.

Top Movers

A structured view of the top-moving assets in the selected universe:

  • US Stocks: Assets are organised by sector. Each sector shows its most significant movers.
  • Popular CFDs: Assets are organised by asset class (FX, Indices, Commodities, Stocks, Crypto).

Users can sort the list by:

  • Return Percentage (ascending or descending) — the raw price move
  • Price Move Strength (ascending or descending) — how significant the move is relative to historical norms

Clicking on any asset selects it and updates the Moves Explained section to show analysis specific to that instrument. Clicking on a sector or asset class label shows all assets within that group, with the corresponding moves explained.

Moves Explained

When an asset or sector is selected from Top Movers, this section displays the full MarketReader analysis for that instrument — explaining what caused the move, with supporting context from related assets, macro data, and news. Articles are shown in chronological order over a rolling one-year window.

In a future release, Moves Explained will also incorporate forward-looking analysis from Acuity's datasets, including Market Alerts, AI and Human Trade Ideas, Pattern Trade Ideas, and Analyst Ratings. These will be ranked and prioritised using a smart scoring framework that factors in confidence level, freshness, time to expiry, and direction alignment.

All Insights

A complete, searchable feed of all Market Companion content. This section surfaces articles that are not already shown in Breaking or Top Movers, giving traders a way to search for any instrument and quickly access its full intelligence history.

Content Labels & Live Updates

AI Content Marker: All articles generated by MarketReader and Acuity's AI pipelines are labelled with a clear AI indicator on every article tile and in the open-article view, so traders always know when they are reading AI-generated analysis.

NEW Badge: Freshly published articles display a "NEW" label in place of the publication timestamp. Once the article ages out of new status, the timestamp resumes its normal display.

Live Feed Updates: The dashboard connects to a live data stream. New articles are inserted into the correct position in the feed based on the active sort order — preserving the integrity of the ranked list rather than simply pushing new items to the top.

How is Market Companion different from a regular news feed? A news feed tells traders what happened. Market Companion tells them why. MarketReader starts with the price move itself — not the news — and identifies the underlying cause by cross-checking multiple independent data sources.

Does this replace NewsIQ? Market Companion is designed as the next-generation replacement for NewsIQ. Both products can run in parallel during the transition period, and brokers can choose which experience their traders see within the Research Terminal.

How often is the content updated? The dashboard updates in real time. New articles are published as significant moves are detected and analysed, and the feed always reflects the current state of the market.

Is the content labelled as AI-generated? Yes. All AI-generated content carries a clear label on every tile and in the open-article view.

Can traders customise what they see? Traders can select assets and sectors within the Top Movers section, use search in All Insights to find specific instruments, and change the sort order in the Top Movers view.
