You can import the instruments you are currently providing in your platforms, which will ensure that only relevant data is shown to the users.
The imported instruments can be used for the following purposes:
- Naming convention mapping
- Instrument modification
Naming convention mapping
Most brokers have a different set of instruments they are providing access to in their tools. Many times these instruments have their own naming conventions, for example, they have specific suffixes or prefixes.
In order for such instruments to be displayed correctly in the Trading Platforms (MetaTrader and cTrader in particular), we need to ensure that these naming conventions are captured and stored alongside our own instrument data.
When we have the naming conventions stored this way, we can ensure that your users will see the instruments with the right suffixes and the right name when they are connected to any server that you have.
Mapping process
The instrument mapping will be done by Acuity admins and it is a fairly straightforward process.
To facilitate the mapping, please provide a CSV/Excel file that contains the following data points:
- Symbol: this is the symbol that users will be usually seeing in places like the Order Window, MarketWatch etc (for example, EURUSD.p). If you have different variations of the symbol, please provide all of them in this file.
- Description/Name: this is the full name of the instrument. For example, Euro vs. US Dollar.
- ISIN: this is the International Security Identification Number that can uniquely identify securities. It’s primarily used for shares. If you have any shares or share CFDs in your offerings, please include the ISINs for those, as this will greatly assist with mapping the instruments.
- Digits: the rounding precision of all of the symbols. E.g., a rounding precision or digits of 2 with US500 will result in the price to be displayed like: 5,113.00
Please share the file containing this information with your Acuity Account Manager or the support team (via support@acuitytrading.com) and we will get the mapping done for you.
