The Market Reader Minute & Newsletter Offerings

What is the Market Reader Minute?

The Market Reader Minute is a concise, daily newsletter built entirely from automated, AI-generated market insights.

The newsletter is intentionally scheduled for publication pre-market, typically between 8:45 a.m. and 9:00 a.m. Eastern Time. This specific 15-minute window is a strategic choice designed to capture critical 8:30 a.m. macroeconomic data drops (such as jobless claims or non-farm payrolls), major pre-market developments, and any market-moving news that occurred during the prior day's after-hours trading session.

Content Structure and Selection Methodology

The Morning Minute follows a strict, highly structured template composed of three main sections:

  • The Macro Overview: A multi-paragraph narrative that summarizes the broad themes driving the overall market on that given day.
  • ETF and Macro Insights: This section highlights unusual moves across commodities, foreign exchange, and ETFs. Market Reader prioritizes featuring ETFs—particularly niche or obscure ones—because they are highly investable for US users and serve as a powerful marketing device to showcase the platform's extensive data coverage beyond mainstream indices like the S&P 500. Operators select these assets using the platform's internal "ETF Monitor" and "Macro Monitor," which utilize a heatmap system where brighter colours instantly indicate the most highly unusual moves.
  • Individual Equity Stories: The newsletter typically features around five distinct equity stories. These are curated using the platform's "Smart Screener" tool. To ensure high-quality content, the screener is filtered to only show assets with a market capitalization over $10 billion and an Explanation Information Score of High or better. This strict Information Score requirement guarantees that the newsletter avoids "empty cards"—meaning it only features stocks where the price anomaly is backed by rich, multi-source story context.

Production and Quality Assurance
While the insights themselves are AI-generated, the final newsletter is assembled with a human-in-the-loop Quality Assurance (QA) step. An operator manually reviews the generated insights, ensuring that the most important market-moving story is placed front and centre.

A critical part of this QA process involves data verification for hard numbers. If the macro overview cites specific economic data (such as CPI or jobs numbers), the operator manually verifies the figures against trusted external sources.

Sector-Specific Minutes (The Afternoon Updates)
In addition to the morning overview, Market Reader has historically produced Sector-Specific Minutes targeting industries such as Technology, Biotech, Energy, Retail, and Financials. Unlike the morning edition, these are sent near the market close (between 3:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. Eastern Time) to allow sector-specific stories to fully play out during the trading day.
